Time: 10am - 2pm
Venue: The House of Commons, Jubilee Rooms

Details:

A high profile women’s event with a particular focus on BAME entrepreneurs. The promotional angle is: 2012 Olympics and beyond: “What’s in it for us?”

The Olympics was won on the back of London’s Diversity and to date many BAME businesses in London have not benefited from the Olympic rollercoaster, but more importantly have not begun to explore how the Olympics can benefit there business, especially through the Visitor Economy.

Event Objectives To celebrate the achievements of the FEAT project and it’s partners including Account 3 and Women’s Resource Centre. A particular focus will be on the sustainability of the women’s sector. We want to highlight the need for women’s businesses especially social enterprises and women’s voluntary and community sector to develop independent strategies. This includes developing income generating services such as Fair Entertainment or the development of an asset base. Where profits could go a long way into sustaining women’s support services.

To celebrate the achievements of enterprises that are members of the FEAT network and promote the extension of these support services to our members through the Cultural Business Investment Programme, supported by ERDF. This new programme will offer selected network members and new clients with the opportunity to become a part of an exclusive network of good quality suppliers who are able to contribute to the delivery of corporate hospitality packages targeting Olympic 2012 National Organising Committees (NOC), Embassies and international corporations, especially those with high profile business/ventures in West Africa and the Caribbean.

To launch the FEAT Hospitality and Tourism network Fair Entertainment and raise the profile of the joint marketing venture described above. The event will take place at the Houses of Parliament, on Friday 12thMarch 2010 between 10am – 2pm.
